Natureworld is now home to some wonderful
examples of majestic birds of prey

When you’re here say
hello to Toady,
our friendly
Frog Mouthed
Tawny Owl.

Toady eats mice,
lizards, moths, and
small insects.

Keep your hands
safe though,
as Toadie can give
a playful but
sharp nip.

Frog Mouthed
Tawny Owls
are actually related
to Kookaburras,

- swifts, rollers, and
rainbow birds -
they are not really
owls at all!!

We have two Wedge Tailed Eagles,
a Swamp Harrier,
two Marsh Owls and
two Masked Owls.
There’s also a Forest Raven
and a Kookaburra.

Sadly they can’t go back to the wild as they have sustained irreparable wing damage but it does mean visitors can see them up very close and they can still look out at the world.

Our wedge tails often get visited by a pair of wild ones,
just to make them feel at home.
Actually the visiting wedge tails are trying to reclaim their territory
and get our wedge tails to leave,
but it does gives ours some behavioural enrichment

Why would a bird of prey be living at Natureworld?

How many reasons can you think of?
